An information tool is something that gives us information we can use and enables us to learn more about a topic. It can be in various forms. For example, it could be a book explaining a topic, a website with facts, an app that educates you step by step, or even a video showing us how something works. Chapters, graphs, and diagrams are also instruments of information because they enable us to see and understand information better visually. Such instruments are made to inform, guide, or describe something in a more simple manner. Others utilize them in school, when they use it at work, or on a daily basis so that they may look for something or understand something better.

Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) is our college website where we get access to lot of lecture notes and assignments and even information.

How VLE is useful in our teaching and learning ?

A Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) is an information device as it provides a virtual platform where learning materials and activities can be shared, viewed, and worked on by learners and lecturers. It is also designed to facilitate instruction and learning through the web. VLE can include study materials like lecture notes, videos, quizzes, discussion forums, and assignments, and all of these can be viewed from a single platform. They offer more convenient and organized learning and help maintain students up-to-date with necessary knowledge related to their studies.

In our college, the VLE serves as the main vehicle of communication and learning. Teachers utilize the VLE to upload learning content, including PowerPoint lessons, PDF reading notes, and reading lists. Our lecturers even assign assignments through VLE. Students can download these learning materials at their own convenience, thus being able to revise lessons on their own terms. This is especially useful for students who may have missed a lesson or need extra time to understand an area of study. The VLE also facilitates teachers in posting key announcements, reminders, and timetables, which keeps everyone informed.

Online testing is yet another beneficial feature of the VLE. Quizzes or tests can be prepared by teachers and taken by students through the system. This saves time and enables instant feedback. Teachers can even utilize the VLE to submit assignments and provide grades and comments, all within a single system. This enhances the learning experience by making it efficient and structured.

The forum discussion in this VLE is another great learning experience. It offers a chance for students to ask questions, share ideas, and have group discussions. This creates a sense of belonging and allows peer-to-peer learning. Teachers can also join the discussions to intervene or offer further explanations.

In conclusion, VLE is a useful information tool that simplifies teaching and learning. It provides resources for learning easily, enhances communication, and assists in classroom activities management more effectively. The teacher can access the students more easily using the VLE, and the students can also control their learning in an adaptable and helpful environment. As a teacher trainee, VLE has made our teaching-learning journey easier.
